Deep Fields Cutout

The first in a series I plan on doing that takes Hubble’s deepest images and uses source finding code to isolate and laser cut out all the stars and galaxies. This leaves only the interstitial space between Earth and the very distant background. These sight lines are of order 40 billion light years. Whole careers are spent studying this level of darkness and it’s where our deepest level of understanding about the universe is coming from.
